GC&E has an entry level position in our Human Resources Department for a Recruiter.  The recruiter position is responsible for achieving staffing objectives through recruiting, interviewing, evaluating and referring applicants for positions throughout the company.  This position must possess skill in interviewing techniques, a good knowledge of all functions in the company, an understanding of the company's organizational structure as well as knowledge of human resources policy and procedure and federal and state laws regarding employment practices.

Essential Job Functions:

  • Full cycle recruitment and assist with the interview process
  • Process job requisitions
  • Coordinates with hiring manager(s) to determine best recruiting process for position(s)
  • Develop and execute recruiting plans
  • Build applicant sources networking contacts, industry contacts, association memberships, trade groups, social media, college recruiting initiatives and employees
  • Develop and track measurable facets of the recruiting and hiring process so that the processes are transparent and measurable to demonstrate the effectiveness of the recruiting process and set continuous improvement goals
  • Arrange candidate interviews
  • Screens and interviews applicants
  • Coordinates appropriate employment testing and employment verifications
  • Extends verbal and written contingent job offers
  • Conducts orientation of new employees
  • Schedules and conducts 30/90/180 follow up meetings with new employees
  • Completes weekly report on employment activity
  • Conducts exit interviews with terminating employees
  • Administrative duties and recordkeeping

Candidate Requirements:

  • Associates degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Excellent interpersonal, oral/written communication and coaching skills
  • Ability to maintain the highly confidential nature of human resources work
  • General knowledge of various employment laws and practices
  • Strong computer skills in a Microsoft Windows environment
  • Must be detail oriented and have the ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to work with various departments and foster teamwork
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Must be able to identify, analyze and resolve problems in a timely manner
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
